Persian Cultural Association of South Australia

A not-for-profit, volunteer-based organisation with no political or religious affiliations, aiming to serve the Persian community.

This Association consists of members from the Persian society and is governed by dedicated volunteers. The board members (steering committee members) are elected, for a period of two years, by members who present to vote in a general assembly.


The objectives of the Association are as follows:
a.Solidarity and preservation of Persian cultural values amongst Persians residing in South Australia
b.Preservation of the Persian culture and language, in particular amongst Persian Youth born in Australia
c.Introducing the Persian culture to multicultural Australia
d.Facilitating the integration process of Persians-Australians into mainstream South Australia
e.Providing help, advice and support to Persians, in particular upon their arrival into Australia
f.Organisation and facilitation of cultural, artistic, social and sport activities for Persians in South Australia
g.Cooperation with other ethnic and cultural associations, and government institutions, which aid the development of ethnic and cultural societies
h.Provision of a suitable location for the organisation to carry out its duties
i.Organisation of traditional Persian ceremonies such as Nawruz and Yalda
j.Organization of recreational activities in the mother language for the promotion of mental health of Persian-Australians
k.Creation of various committees, in order to accomplish the above mentioned objectives, in accordance with target groups; such as Hamdelan, Hamnavayan, Radio and Javan Club.
